Investigator & Compliance Review Officer – Yukon Ombudsman

The Office of the Ombudsman, Information and Privacy Commissioner, and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner is seeking to fill the position of Investigator and Compliance Review Officer as part of the Investigations team.
A key responsibility of this position will be to conduct formal investigations into allegations of unfairness made under the Ombudsman Act and disclosures of wrongdoing or complaints of reprisal under the Public Interest Disclosure of Wrongdoing Act (PIDWA). This position will also conduct formal investigations into complaints made under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPPA) and the Health Information Privacy and Management Act (HIPMA).
Position Summary
- Location: Whitehorse, Yukon
- Job Type: Permanent Full-Time after 6 months probation
- Salary Range: $95,248 to $110,615 per annum – candidates with a law degree and who are called to the Yukon bar will also receive a $6,000 stipend annually
- Benefits: Extended Health Benefits and 12% in lieu of pension
- Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (7.5 hrs/day)
- Travel Bonus: $2,242.00 per year (after 2 years of employment
Preference will be given to candidates eligible to practice law in the Yukon or who are able
to be called to the Yukon bar within 6 months of hire.
